I'm an accredited member of the National Counselling Society, and follow their code of ethics.
I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) and a Certificate in Person-centred Counselling (ABC Awards).
Other training includes the Open Dialogue Foundation Training, which uses family and social network meetings to work with mental health crises. It can also be applied to working with individuals and couples. Solutions can be found collectively, through dialogue and discussion.
I've completed the Philadelphia Association Introductory Course in Philosophy and Psychotherapy – a thoughtful and accepting approach to mental health.
I've also trained as a bereavement counsellor with Camden Bereavement Service, and with Cruse Bereavement Care.
All these courses have deepened my understanding and interest in mental health issues and emotional difficulties, and in how we live through them and develop from them.
I have worked as a counsellor for Cambridgeshire Consultancy in Counselling, for Counselling Initiatives in Haringey, and in private practice. I have many years experience in the voluntary sector for mental health, including the Stress Project in Islington.
